Relaxing on the patio.After a delicious egg casserole on Tuesday morning, we made the short drive to Boulder where we had lunch with one of Grady’s colleagues. We then headed north to Ft. Collins to “tour” (i.e., sample) two breweries: 1) New Belgium (known for Fat Tire Amber Ale) and 2) Odells (known for 90 Schilling).

We left Ft. Collins a bit red in the face and headed south to Denver where we hunted down Tipsy’s Liquor World – a new liquor store that is vying for “largest liquor store in the world” status. In fact, Guinness will be visiting the store on Wednesday to examine the specs. The place is “Mecca” for those who enjoy boozing … they have just about any type of beer, liquor, or wine you could ever want. Just the beer fridge alone was approximately 50-60 yards long. After the longest liquor store visit in our lives, we grabbed some dinner nearby at a local pizzeria. We ate dinner outside under the nice Denver sky where we were able to watch some 20-somethings bash in their car with a skateboard, followed by keying a variety of messages into the car’s paint. Not sure what was wrong with these misfits, but it made for some rather “unique” entertainment while we waited for our pizza to show. I guess the hip thing to do these days is to give your car some “character.” We ended the night back at Chris and Rod’s where we crashed fairly quickly after a day of heavy beers and good food. We’re back on the chase this Wednesday as the weather pattern is finally making the long-awaited change for the better.
