5/3/2012 - Northern Illinois Convection

The rebirth of summer-like conditions across the Midwest promoted an evening full of convective potential. Indeed, thunderstorms formed across Chicago and the 'burbs providing a splendid view of backlit multicells from my perspective in DeKalb. Below are some images and links to time-lapse movies illustrating the view from Lions Park in DeKalb (where we had our end-of-the-year AMS gathering) and a recently planted field just south of DeKalb.
